Who We Are

Fakenews Ghana is a nonprofit civic initiative committed to combating misinformation and disinformation in Ghana’s media and public discourse. Founded in 2024, we exist to promote truth, transparency, and accountability by verifying claims, debunking false narratives, and providing the public with accurate, fact-based information.

At the heart of our mission is the belief that a well-informed citizenry is essential for a healthy democracy. We apply rigorous fact-checking methods, data analysis, and media monitoring to uncover misleading claims—whether from public officials, media outlets, or viral social media content.
